• Provide you with a marketing page for your book that is submitted to various Newsgroups and also to Search Engines. If you are published on both the Fiction4All and A1AdultEbooks networks then you will have a marketing page on each site.

Author guidelines, royalty payment rates and terms

BY SUBMITTING YOUR BOOK TO US FOR PUBLICATION,

YOU ARE DEEMED TO HAVE READ AND AGREED TO

THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS LAID OUT IN THIS DOCUMENT.

We welcome manuscript submissions from both new and experienced authors on equal terms.

For Fiction4all - we will consider submissions for most fiction subjects - see our list of genres on our site, but excluding any subject that we consider to be inappropriate for people under 18 years of age, except for the listed erotica genres, which is aimed at an adult audience. 

For A1InfoEbooks - we will consider submissions for most non-fiction subjects - see our list of genres on our site, but excluding any title we consider to be a scam, worthless or overpriced. We will not publish any title that has anything to do with terrorist activities, any title that promotes racial hatred or religious coersion, or any other illegal activity.

For A1AdultEbooks - we will consider submissions for most bondage/bdsm/sm/fetish fiction subjects under our FetishWorld Ebooks Imprint- see our list of genres on our site. For adult story submissions to any of our adult genres please note the following:

Regardless of the genre of your adult story,  WE WILL NOT PUBLISH Any sexual activity involving minors (under 18s) even if they are simply "around" Any sexual activity involving animals or corpses Any sexual activities that include Rape, Snuff, Smothering, Scat, Incest

For all stories, the subject fields are open and varied according to the list of genres on our book sites at www.fiction4all.com , www.a1infoebooks.com and www.a1adultebooks.com  which are covered by our various imprints. 

For Fiction4All and A1AdultEbooks we broadly sell three lengths of novels.

1. Full-length novels (60,000+ words).

2. Mini-novels (30,000 - 40,000 words).

3. Complete short stories (min 5,000 words).

FOR FETISHWORLD EBOOKS PLEASE NOTE A DIFFERENT CRITERIA APPLIES

For A1InfoEbooks the work length may vary but the title MUST be complete and not require the customer to purchase anything separately, including a password to access additional material. 

We will publish your works and provide you with access as an author to online statistics and sales confirmation emails relating to your published titles. We also run our payments based on a monthly cycle with payments being made from 21st of the following month - paying out when your account reaches $50 or more with any under balance carried forward to the next period.

We regularly email our ever-growing list of newsletter subscribers  on new publications and also advertise on newsgroups and through other channels to help obtain the best possible sales for all titles. We have also available an RSS Feed of titles published in the past 14 days. An RSS Feed allows people to download the latest information without having to visit our site. It is a free service available on most modern Internet browsers and because the person receiving the feed remains totally anonymous, we consider this to be something of appeal to most adult orientated book readers.

Submissions

AUTHORS must now submit their stories using the facilities provided in the Authors Suite. 

Authors new to us must join us as a member and then set up their author profile (pen name and short biography) using the facilities within the Authors Suite. Once a profile has been created  an author can use the SUBMIT NEW TITLE feature to create a title submission. This procedure will require the author to supply the following information:

• Imprint to which the title relates. In the case of non-adult fiction this will always be the Fiction4All imprint. For non-fiction titles it will be A1InfoEbooks.

• genre that the title applies to: e.g , mystery&crime, horror, etc and headed on the mail "Story submission". You can see the available genres on our main book sites. You may select up to three genres that are applicable to your title. For adult stories submitted to our FetishWorld Ebooks imprint you must select the most appropriate adult genre for your story from the options provided in the submissions software. 

• if appropriate you can select a time period that the title relates to - eg Victorian Era.

• A short blurb for the title - this is not a full synopsis but a few hundred words that will be displayed on site to attract interest in your book. This is like the information you would expect to find on the back of a paperback novel.

• Any ideas you have for a cover picture - unless you are sending us a picture to use (see below).

• Once you have completed the short submissions form you will be given the choice of either emailing us the story or uploading it to our server using the software provided. We require from you the following files:

  • The full script in Word document (.doc)  format. (Spelling and grammar checked before sending, please.) Avoid adding your name or page numbers, we will add all the legal protection necessary if your novel is accepted. Your manuscript MUST closely follow our layout requirements which are detailed at the end of this section.

  • Your chosen extract from the title to help sell your title (usually the first chapter or a few hundred words)

  • If you can do so - we would also ask you to send us a good-quality cover picture (not under copyright) relevant to the story supplied as a jpg. This should be portrait in orientation. If you can't do this  - no matter - we will try and find one that is suitable, based on any ideas you include in your submission. 

Submissions that do not follow the above procedure and provide all the information requested are unlikely to be considered for publication.

Manuscripts submitted that do not conform reasonably well to our manuscript layout requirements below will not be accepted by us.

It is your responsibility as author to ensure your script follows our guidelines below as closely as possible and that the script has been thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar. 

Manuscript Layout Requirements:

• Manuscripts must be submitted in Word DOC or Word DOCX format using the Times New Roman font.

• Heading page must contain the following three lines:
  Title
  by
  Author Name

• The first page of the story and all subsequent Chapters must start on a New Page which has been created using the Insert/Break/PageBreak command and NOT using carriage return/linefeeds.

• Check that Chapter Headings are consistent (font and size) throughout the manuscript

• Section breaks should be denoted by THREE asterisks centred on the page with no Tab insertions

• Paragraph formatting should be zero spaces before and after paragraphs, with first lines indented by at least 1.3 centimetres. Paragraphs should be aligned as justified if your wordprocessor version allows this.

• Use of speech marks must be consistent. If your speech uses 'thoughts' in quotes then use double quote marks for real speech and single quotes for 'thoughts'. 

• Spelling MUST be checked thoroughly as must grammar. Use Word's tools to do this and remove as many errors as you can. Advise us if speech requires certain dialects (eg Deep South drawl) so we can ignore it in our final checking. Such dialects are impossible to spell check!

• The Manuscript MUST end with the words THE END, aligned to the centre of the page.

Royalty payment and terms

ROYALTY RATE

We pay the same rates for exclusive and non-exclusive publications!

We pay 40% of the actual sale price in royalties for each copy of the title sold across our network of sites that are operated by affiliates and partners. 

We pay 50% of the actual sale price in royalties for each copy of the title sold  to our own native customers (not associated with partners or affiliates) on Fiction4All, A1InfoEbooks and A1AdultEbooks. 

In exceptional circumstances, where an author proves to be very popular, and at the sole discretion of the management team at Fiction4All, an author's rate of royalty may be increased to a maximum of 60% for all their future sales to our own native customers on Fiction4All and A1AdultEbooks. 

Operate your own web store on Fiction4All and/or A1AdultEbooks and you will earn your author rate (50% or 60%) for your own titles, and you will also get 30% affiliate commission on any other titles they purchase - titles by other authors!   

In all cases we maintain accounts for all authors. You can decide whether you want to be paid weekly or monthly through PayPal, or receive a bank transfer (UK or International). When the balance of your account reaches a minimum of $25 for PayPal payments (or $50 forbank transfgers), or higher if you wish the minimum to be higher, our account payment processing routines will automatically trigger payment of the balance on the account. For weekly PayPal payments, the balance of your account will be taken as at the end of Friday each week. Where your balance is greater than the minimum payout level, you will receive payment the following Tuesday. Where the balance is below the minimum, your balance will roll over to the following week. For monthly payments, due to restrictions imposed by our credit card processing system, we MUST advise you that payments will not be made for at least 14 days after the month end as we have to clear funds from our card processor. Transfers to a UK Bank are done FREE of charge. For International bank transfers we will charge £15 per transfer to cover our costs - this will be deducted from the amount sent to you. You remain responsible for your own bank costs. For transfers to a UK or International Bank please contact us for details so we can set this up for you.

AWARDS AND REWARDS

We believe hard-working authors who either write exclusively for us or give us first run of their titles should be rewarded for their efforts, so we have introduced our Awards and Rewards Schemes for authors who are published by Fiction4All whether on Fiction4All or A1AdultEbooks. These awards and rewards DO NOT apply to authors whose books appear on our site which have been added by other publishers, or to authors who choose to publish their title on other sites first and then publish with us/. These awards and rewards are subject to the terms and conditions stated below.

 

REWARDS SCHEME

 

On A1AdultEbooks we have a Hall of Fame for great stories. To get your book listed on our Hall of Fame your book MUST achieve at least DIAMOND SALES level (our third sales level) during the initial 28 days of the book being published. From June 2011 this will ONLY include books that have been published by authors exclusively with us, or where the author has given us first run of their title. 

 

BONUS SCHEME

Form June 2011, for all authors who publish their titles with us as FIRST RUN titles (i.e. brand new works published initially on Fiction4All or A1AdultEbooks for 28 days before being published elsewhere) or EXCLUSIVE titles (where we act as your sole distributor under Exclusive Publishing Package) we also offer monetary awards for sales achievements.


For every $200 in gross sales achieved in the initial 28 days of publication for applicable titles (as stated above) we award the author a $10 bonus which will be credited to the author's account at the end of the 28 day period. We run such payments at the end of each month so your payment may be made to your account up to 30 days after your initial 28 days on our site.

On A1AdultEbooks we already list on the site a 28 day rolling best-sellers list, with sales level achievement markers of Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum and Ultronium, as appropriate for every 30 copies sold in the first 28 days, so everyone can see at a glance what books are doing well! 

 

AWARDS SCHEME

In 2009 we introduced the A1AdultEbooks Author Awards. For 2011 we are altering the awards scheme. From 2011, the authors eligible for these awards will be one of the following:

• authors published by Fiction4All under our Exclusive Publishing Agreement, on either Fiction4All or A1AdultEbooks

• authors providing us directly with at least TWO first run titles (ie the title is published on Fiction4All or A1Adultebooks for a period of at least 28 days before it is published elsewhere)

These awards are based on member votes and there will be three categories.

First category is for authors published on A1AdultEbooks - our Bondage Author Awards.

Second category is for erotica authors published on Fiction4All - our Erotica Author Awards.

Third category is for our non-adult authors published on Fiction4All - our General Fiction Author Awards.

 

In each category there are THREE awards, each with monetary value and

each with a badge the author will have posted on their Author profile and can also use elsewhere.

The monetary values are as follows:

 

1st Place - $100

   2nd Place - $50

3rd Place - $25

 

Awards are given based on member votes. Members can only vote for an author if they have bought at least one of the author's books. Members can vote for ONE author in each category. Authors can not vote for themselves.

 

Voting will open on 1st December and close on 21st December. The awards will be given on 22nd December.

 

We will soon be adding an item to the Author Publishing suite at www.epuborg.com 

so you will be able to check which category you are eligible for at any time.

Copyright always remains with the author.

PRICING POLICY

Prices of ALL titles published directly by Fiction4All are at the discretion of the editorial team and their decision is final and binding. By submitting a story for publication you are deemed to agree with our decision. We may, at our sole discretion, alter prices up or down at any time to reflect market trends.

We always aim to achieve the highest realistic price for a publication. We often offer a new title with a discount for the first 14 days as this attracts more sales, thus the initial price of a book may be slightly lower than the full list price.

REMOVAL OF PUBLISHED TITLES

Due to the  effort required to publish and market a book, we require all titles to be left on our network for at least one year following publication. Where you require a book to be removed within the first year after publication, at our discretion we will charge you $50 for each book removed.
